Meat Balls

Tired for a change.
2 nights ago we had a front tire blow out while flying down the highway. We skidded across the road through the median before hitting the rumble strip on the oncoming traffic side. At that point we turned back to our side of the road and almost flipped over when we tried to make it out of the median ditch. I was in the the back lounge with Tim, both of us holding on for dear life. Lucas got tossed out of his bunk and a few others got thrown about the front lounge. Everyone was shaken up but OK. We stopped about 100 feet short of an overpass. If we hit that it would have been trouble. As it stands all it is is a flat tire. I hate that fucking bus.
Last night was just a drive. Detroit to Milwaukee. No big deal. But it sure felt like a big deal. Every time we hit the rumble strip, every 6 minutes or so, my heart skipped a beat. I don't know if it was just shitty roads or poor driving or a combination of the two, but I don't feel real comfortable or safe on the bus lately. And with that I will leave and go enjoy the comforts that this hotel room affords me. Like a large non moving bed. And quiet. Sine the near accident the bus has started making some strange noises that seem to emanate from under my bunk. I hate that fucking bus.

This shit aint funny anymore.

At this point we decided to rent a car and drive.
But first 2 of us had to find out where our bags were. After some wandering around the airport and asking various people we were directed downstairs to a door. After cutting in front of everyone in line without them even knowing it I was able to find someone who had access to the door and our bags. We were on the road by 6:00pm. We pulled up to the hotel in Rochester around 12:30, hung out a bit and then went to sleep. When I woke up I was still in Rochester. So much for dreams coming true.

Houston do we still have a problem?

Stuff I bought today

-2 custom embroidered hats.
-1 pair of Persols sunglasses.
-1 Western Digital 160gig portable hard drive.
-1 pair of Adidas black/white "new dazzle" shorts xxl
-1 travel charger with international adapters for Blackberry 8800.
-2 Mitchum deodorant unscented clear gel.
-1 small roll clear 3m packing tape with dispenser.
-1 pack of 4 Duracell Power Pix AAA batteries.
- A bunch of other crap that I have already forgotten about.

Some of this I actually wanted. A few things I even needed. Amazing though when you don't have anything particular in mind, or you do, what you wind up with. Most of this, and a ton more, stuff will be packed away in 1 of 4 bags.

Front yard.

I have been home for a week and have accomplished nothing.
I feel good about it. A genuine sense of accomplishment. When I take a step back I can really see what I haven't done and it makes me proud to think I didn't do a thing. I don't even have to pack my bag. I did that a month ago. Thanks BA. Gotta go, nothing to do.

Piss up a rope.

I leave this hotel with the rest of The Brown Angels at 5:00am. That is a little more than 3 hours from now. Enough time to take a shower, a quick nap and toss my crap back into my bag. British Airways(who suck)have made packing easy for me this time around after losing my bag. I actually did 3 weeks on the road with 4 days of clothes. Believe it or not. A lot of laundry and hand washing in hotel sinks made it possible. What really saved my ass was the rain jacket I had tucked away in my work box. Without that I would have been shot out of luck in the rain. The rain that seemed to follow us all over Europe. Today was a slight exception but there was still the mud to contend with. Whatever. It is all behind me now. What lies ahead is a short flight from Edinburgh to London and then London to New York. I am looking forward to sitting down for while and watching Battlestar Galactica on my ipod.
