Both of the cards below were actually bribes now that I think about it. I was told before hand that I would get the commendation card, which was presented at assembly on Friday, if I would keep the area under my desk clean and then a year later improve my class attitude. I did both. Got the cards to prove it. And then I went right back to making a mess and having a shitty attitude. I did it for the little prize. In this case the commendation card. As I got older I got smarter and started asking for higher dollar prizes. One time it was an Amdek amber computer monitor. I loved that thing. Don't remember what I had to do to get it. I think maybe keep myself out of summer school. Which I did. So I won the prize. I also accumulated bicycle parts. Which were highly in demand and expensive. But that changed soon enough as I started work in a bicycle shop. I was being told that I must get a job by my father. So I got a job. Actually my brother got me a job. He told me about the ad he saw in the local Queens paper. So at that point I had a job, a job I wanted no less, and now had a source of income(I don't think I made enough for it to be called income)with which I could now buy bicycle parts at a discount. So I stopped going to school all together. I worked. I worked a lot when I was younger. From 14 on I had a job of some sort. For years it was bicycles, skateboards, then studios and clubs. And here I am now. I just summed up my whole working life there. I hope you enjoyed it. For the most part I did.
