I just did two things. Possibly more. Probably.
The first thing I did was watch a tivo'd episode of Iconoclasts. I somewhat randomly picked one from the many that I have recorded. The last one I watched, a few weeks ago, was with Eddie Vedder and Laird Hamilton. It was such a joy to watch and listen to these guys talk about what they love and how they came to make it happen. Tonight I watched Mikhail Baryshnikov and chef Alice Waters, and again, I really enjoyed listening to them speak about what they are seemingly driven to do. I didn't even know who Alice Waters was before the show. And now I am grateful that I do. Not all TV is the garbage and nonsense that people have come to expect from the networks and cable. So I watched a great TV program.
The second thing I did was clean my camera. My new camera had a piece of dirt somewhere. It wasn't on the lens as I had cleaned it thoroughly. It was on the image sensor. So I had to figure out how to lock the mirror open to access the sensor. No big deal cause the manual told me how to do exactly what I wanted. So I cleaned the image senor with a rocket air blower. These things are cool. A squeeze bulb blower that is super powerfull. No more compressed air cans. And since you can't fly with that stuff anyway, not to mention it's not environmentally sound, the rocket blower is perfect. I always feel good after accomplishing something new. Learning how to do it again is like adding a new tool to your work box. To be used again at some point down the line. Or modified and used for some unthought of purpose. That's all. Nothing really. An infomercial for a TV show and an air blower. Who would have thought.
