After a days wait I received 1 of my 2 bags. The smaller of the 2 which contains 4 days worth of clothes. Better than nothing. The big bag is now gone. Lost in the baggage abyss. I have sat here thinking about it, trying to put myself in the bags position. Sitting in a corner of some hot, dimly lit baggage processing facility all by itself. Anxiously waiting to be picked up and placed on a plane or truck. Just wanting to be back in motion. It is a suitcase after all, it wants to be in motion. It is not doing any good by sitting in one place. Hoping that someone will simply read one of the tags on it, there are a few. One with my home address, the other with an "if lost please return to" with the band's management address. But apparently no one is reading them. For if they were surely bag would be in motion and not "lost" as British Airways claims. The bag isn't lost. British Airways has lost it. There is a huge difference. So I will make do with 4 days worth of clothes. Washing things here and there when I can. Scavenging the free t shirt or baseball hat. Making do. That's what I seem to do. It is not my goal or ambition but it's the reality of the situation. I make do. Almost a hard thing to admit. I keep thinking of an old advertisement from a bicycle company, GT. They were taking a stab at a competitor and it read something like "GT makes bikes, Haro makes do". It stuck with me all these years.
I am now off to a dirty field in Hamburg. I hope you are all well wherever you are.
